Salzburg

March,18th

Can’t get enough of Sound of Music, classical pieces or Red Bull? Then this is the trip for you!
Visit one of the most beautiful cities of Austria and birthplace to the world-famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

We will travel most comfortably by bus which will take us to our first stop on top of the city’s backyard-mountain called “Gaisberg”. Here you can enjoy the amazing view over Salzburg and the Alps. Afterwards we will discover the fortress of Salzburg, learning about the history and area of Salzburg, which literally translated means “salt fortress”.

Then you will have free time for shopping in the historic and romantic alleys like “Getreidegasse” and “Linzergasse” (note: shops close at 5:00pm on saturdays!) or relax with a cup of coffee at the original “Afro Cafe” you might already know from the university’s cafeteria.

Next you can explore all the other nice places of Salzburg mentioned in the booklet, e.g. the birthplace of the great musician Wofgang Amadeus Mozart, the cathedral, the gardens of the castle Mirabell (note: gardens close at sun down) and more.

Optionally we will take you by bus to the “Red Bull Hangar 7” – Red Bull and Airplane fans will be in 7th heaven! You’ll learn about Red Bull’s activities, events and shows and will see some of the original jets used for their impressive Air Races, as well as formula 1 race cars! Check out this video to learn more about it.

We will finally meet up for dinner at a very tasty Austrian restaurant before heading back to Vienna.
